WC498: 5 Minutes at GC

Interesting challenge this week. The is from a trip to the GC earlier this summer. While at least 50 people crowded around the point looking straight into the sun to watch it dip below the canyon, I was completely alone no more than 100 feet away watching the real light show. Image taken at 7:28:39.

But just 5 minutes earlier ....

Lovely shot, with lots of depth and great light. I'd really like to see the third shot at 7:33.

great timing on the first photo, the extra light really adds an extra punch. The clouds are an added bonus :).

These two pictures are a nice example of the difference between a photographer and a tourist with an expensive camera. Don't know how many times I have been waiting for the right conditions while two or three people walked up, snapped the scene, and went on to something else.

Nice job Berry. It's interesting how far the shadows climbed in just a few minutes. I also find it interesting how many people never turn around to see what's going on behind them during a sunrise and sunset.
