Hello everybody. I am new to the NPN and this is my first test-upload, to see if all works according to plan (sizing, sharpness of the image etc.).
This Kestrel was shot some weeks ago in a place close to my home (coastal area of The Netherlands). It was not shy for a change and could be approached through the open fields relatively easy.
Nikon D700 / 300mm 2.8 with 2.0 converter
Thanks for looking,
Hans

Great first post Hans, lovely colors and well exposed. I like the perch bottom with its red berries, nice head-turn and BG here. Would like to this large if possible..
Welcome to NPN - Well done! :toast:

Welcome to NPN. Nice image and first post. You were working with some beautiful light here. Nice head turn by the bird giving you a great catch light. Appears to be nice and sharp at this size. I like the berries in the perch. I might crop away some of the left hand side, since most of the foliage there is out of focus-. Whenever possible post the optional larger version to so that we can better assess the detail.

Welcome Hans! A beautiful image. The head turn back with your composition makes this work very well. Wonderful background and environmental setting. Looking forward to your posting and participation here on NPN.

Welcome aboard Hans. You have a very nice image here. I really love the background which beautifully sets the bird and the perch off. The berries add a touch of color but not too much, you have a nice head turn with some catch light in the eye, and from the small file size it looks to be sharp. Your composition is spot on for me. As others have stated you can upload a larger version with each post for a better look see at the details. It wouldn't hurt to provide a little bit more EXIF data as well. Look forward to seeing many more images from you Hans. :toast:
