Iso 800 28mm 0EV f8 1/500
Pink Dahlia in the botanical garden of Turku.
While it is a pink Dahlia it almost looks like a lotus flower.

Ester: Welcome to NPN and to the finest Flora gallery on the planet. Beautiful subject and an intriguing comp. I like your POV. Normally I would not care much for the leaf in the URC but this works OK for me. In fact I might be tempted to crop down and in a smidgen from that corner to eliminate the space above the leaf. Great to have you aboard and looking forward to more.>=))>

Beautiful colors Ester and I like the composition as well. I do agree with Bill about the URC and would either crop there or take the bg darker. This is a very fine image for my tastes as posted. Welcome to the gallery. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Excellent pov and the main bloom is well taken. I'm not sure why but the leaf in the URC bothers me, maybe it's just that it's drawing my eyes from the main subject.... it appears that their may be other OOF FLOWERS behind it and IMO, I think they would have added to the overall comp. rather then the leaf taking away. Still a very lovely image and this is just my opinion. Remember " ......you can't please all the people, all the time!"

Ester:
Welcome to Floral.
I agree with your comment about this looking a lot like lotus. I like the point of view here and the color of the bloom. Like Craig, I find the leaf in RUC a little distracting and removing the corner as suggested by BIll may lessen the distraction somewhat. Also I would consider darkening the specular reflection of the leaves along the left edge.
Look forward to seeing more of your posts here.

Nice, full bloom Ester. nice color too. I wish that the leaf on the top right were not encroaching on the top right of the bloom.

Hi Ester, I really like the flower, esp. its colour, not sure about the green leaf in the foreground as it is a bit unsharp, it's a bit irritating to my eye.
Otherwise the green "frame" works well.
