Dusk Giraffe

A simple giraffe silhouette at sunset. I find the most effective way to photograph giraffe silhouettes is on foot - this tends to allow for the subtle sideway movement that will allow one to achieve the desired composition - i.e. including the sun or light area that you are after...

Beautiful silhouette James! Love the large sun in the BG and the visible branches add to the environment for me. The comp works perfect for me.

Yep - a simple giraffe silhouette - but definitely executed well (both technically and creatively). I never get bored of looking at images like this!

This is such a cool picture! I love how you can see his eyelashes and just a hint of his spots. I like how you caught him standing right beside the sun. I hope I can photograph giraffes in the wild sometime!

Ohhh....this is an image I dream of getting!!
I like the silhouette, the position of both the giraffe and sun, the detail the the brush behind giving depth to the image and the sun without the usual haloing.
