Pampas Foxes

Hi everyone. Here's an image from our recent trip to Argentina. There were a few pairs of Pampas Foxes on the property at Rincon del Socorro. This is a different pair from the one posted by May Haga recently. The sun had just set so I was very limited for light - I was at iso 1600 so I ended up running a fair bit of NR on the bg. It's full frame except for cropped a sliver from the bottom.

7D 500F4 1/50 F4 iso 1600, laying on the ground shooting.

Excellent low angle and good interaction with eye detail. The only tweak I would experiment with would be to perhaps de-saturate and adjust brightness of the oof "something" just beyond the center and over the left head, so the eye wouldn't find it to wonder what it is!

Hi Nate,

Nice intraspecific interaction and great eye contact - well done. While I agree with Lon's comment re: de-emphasizing the lighter and brighter object in the background, my eye was drawn first to the point of contact between the two foxes and then to the eyes of the fox on the right.

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Quite the cool interaction shot you got here Nate! I love the look of the RHS one...
Low angle adds heaps to this image.

ISO handled very well overall too. I agree on darkening parts of the BG that tend to draw the eye. Using luminosity masks will assist in doing this without making it look obvious or unnatural...

Nate, I love the interaction of this. If you are okay with cloning, I might be tempted to clone out the bright area instead of just reducing it, but then again I have never been big on much cloning and iof my memory serves me correctly, I think you employ the same feeling about it...but it would improve this a bit...so tempting it is.
Other than that, I absolutely love this! Congrats on making this!
