Enjoying a drink

Well this is the Tiger from the last post who was incredibly thirsty. There are manmade shallow pools dotted around the area so the Tigers in this location have a constant supply of fresh water to drink from in the very dry and incredibly hot periods of the Indian climate. The dark grey line is the rim of the expose edge of the pool.

Terrific image of this magnificent tiger Stephen. The face and tongue positions are really nice. I wish the grey edge of the pool was not visible in the back, but nothing you could do about that.

Beautiful shot - and a well timed moment..Your low perspective gives this quite an intimate feel, along with those amazing eyes. Also, I think you have framed itperfectly, including the tiger's right elbow and going full to eliminate as much of the man-made aspect as possible. Beautiful :toast:

Beautiful exposure in beautiful light. It appears you were quite constrained by the circumstances of him using the mad made pool. Ideally I would have desired a little more space, but given the pool edges, you might have made the most of the opportunity. Eye and tongue details are very very nice.

Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback. :wavey:

Hi Lon, not knowing where the Tiger was going I could only assume and wait. Plus the word of a Tiger spreads easily and before you know it there are 4 or 5 other vehicles converging, vying for pole position. Also they are not as tolerant as some of the big african animals and get easily spooked, plus getting this low angle was not as easy as other times.

Beautiful light, colors n expressions here ! I believe man made pool prevented you from adding some foreground. Was it in Tadoba?

This is fantastic, Stephen. The warm light really brings out the tiger's color and I love the stare.

Beautiful close-up of this magnificent animal, Stephen! I love the details in the eyes and tongue. Good for the tigers the pools are made. :toast:
