Knot

I have spent the last 3 days on the North Norfolk coast which distracted me from the GCSE results which came out today! This image was taken on Wednesday evening on the beach at Titchwell. As the tide was retreating, large numbers of waders had gathered on the beach as the sun was going down to feed. The retreating tide creating these patterns on the sand. Unfortunately I could not leave any more space above and to the left as there is a patch of water which in my mind spoils the image.

Techs:
Nikon D300s
Nikon 200-400mm and 1.4x TC
Handheld kneeling in the sand
F5.6
1/500s
ISO 400

Nice one Oscar. It is a shame the bird is so far up but you could sort that. No big deal -many will like it as is.
Love the sand ripples.

I like the composition and would have placed the bird there too. I love the patterns and shapes formed by the sand. Lovely image  :wavey:

Good looking image, Oscar, the patternation of the sand looks great. I with JR on this one, the Knot needs to be just a little lower in the frame, no big deal though just personal taste.

I quite like it as it is, but think it would benefit from a crop off the bottom. The shapes formed by the sand are an important part of the composition, but at the bottom of the shot they are just too out of focus.

Thanks for the comments - I would rather not leave any space above and to the left of the bird as there is a patch of water which is much lighter, which I think is better left out of the image.

The results were good thank you - 9A*s 2As
