Ok, missing a little nature here, although one could consider all the "natural" remedies, snake oil and other natural elixirs....
There's really several ways to approach photographing the windows in Bodie. You can simply use them as a mirrors to create abstracts of different scenes and subjects in Bodie reflections, as Harley did with his water-color type window abstract. Or a second way is to photograph "through" them as with the Chair scene I posted. And lastly you can photograph the windows themselves as subjects. This one here is actually a combination of the last two approaches. The old weathered window framing and chipped paint are part of the story, but it's looking through the window of the bottles that's the main story.
Anyway, just for fun from Bodie. Check the large version for an even better story. With the help of my assistant, Harley, we combine two dark cloths to shield most of the window from background reflections - mainly me and my camera. However, we don't cover the entire frame (that's why this is cropped.) From the top left corner going across, you'll see: My head/hat, my camera, Harley's hand holding dark cloth and then in the UR, Harley's hat. I'm guessing no one would know that if I hadn't mentioned it.
Your comments appreciated. Thanks!
