Having some great times at my pools whilst the drought is on. Bit dark in this woodland one though.

Interesting behavior John. The head is sharp even at that SS with this action and that yellow bill and eye ring really show off the face.

Thanks Ron.
Strange how birds keep their heads motionless whilst on a bendy branch or bathing, Defence stragegy I suppose.
Robins are particularly good at it !
Cheers

Ps I've been doing pool stuff with usually about 6 different hides and pool setups for about 50 years now and the beauty is - you never know what's coming. A lot have tried it and given up because they don't put the time in. Wet birds are a doddle as they sit there looking daft (and wet)- its just those in between shots that make the difference, ( if you are awake )

Sweet, John. I love the shaking body and the immobile head.

You caught the blackbird at an intimate moment, very cool. I really like how the eye is razor sharp and the body is a blur with the splashes flying everywhere. Does look like the image could use some leveling, counter cw rotation. I can see that this might cause some problems with the tail getting cut off though.
