Really nice detail here - the BG and water drops are excellent. Good work with the extension tubes!
You might consider flipping this to a vertical format! the grasshopper here is in a pretty awkward position, with his head low.

Nicely exposed Verdon you've controlled the flash very well. I like the composition and dof is excellent with the insect and water droplets both sharp.Graham

Verdon:
Excellent exposure. The warm red bg makes this image for me and complement the theme of hugging.

Great comp and this color scheme adds a lot of impact Verdon.
Cool behavioral pose, the hopper does look like it's embracing the leaf as it drinks.
Techs look very good, well done! :toast:

Very cool shot, Verdon! The repeating patterns and water droplets are a beautiful counterpoint to the grasshopper - and the red background is icing on the cake. Excellent details! Well done!

Verdon, I'm not usually a fan of "bug" photos, but the beautiful background, green leaves and water drops have made this bug photo extremely likeable. Very nice.
