Moraine Lake Sunrise

I'm going to take the plunge and post my first Landscape Shot! I post primarily in the Wildlife and Avian galleries but have started to dip my toe in landscapes since my wife and I get to enjoy a lot of beautiful scenery while waiting for critters to show up.

This is a panoramic of 5x shots taken at Moraine Lake in Banff NP, Canada this past June just as a 3-day storm was starting to clear right at sunrise. The lake was perfectly still and there was only one other photographer out. Hard to get something different at this iconic place so I hope this does the trick. C&C greatly appreciated.

I like the low lying clouds and the mirror like reflection. The symmetric 50/50 composition works for me too. As you mention this scene has been photographed numerous times but as I experienced recently at the Maroon Bells in Colorado it is nice to bring home your take on the scene. :wavey:

I think it's standard fare for a reflection shot, but it definately works well. I like the comp, and the conditions you got a lot. Nice dark tree line, as well as some nice light and blue sky for color contrast. not sure why you went as far as f/22? Even though there is plenty of contrast, the whole thing looks a little flat to me. I might play around with a midtone curves adjustment, and some localized dodge/burn to try and recreate some sense of depth. Other than that, I think it looks real nice!

Wonderful reflections, the split 50/50 is fully justified here. Splendid.

The reflection is amazingly sharp. I also like the undulating line of fog/cloud and the lineup of peaks. I would like to see hints of green in the trees.

Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments, especially for my first Landscape post. I went back and made a few levels and mid-tone contrast adjustments. Hope this one is a bit better. Thanks again!

That's really nice, Joe. Dramatic scene and reflection. My only thought might be to darken some of the lighter parts of the sky a bit and maybe pull a bit more texture out of the clouds on the right. Edit: Yes, like in the repost

Killer reflectin and I like the overall composition affording a clean view. I could see bringing out slightly more detail in the shadows + this is lovely.
