Prairie Falcon

Another look at one of the Prairie Falcon fledglings I saw a few weeks ago. Last one was a head-shot, this was taken from further back. Think I like this one better, with the whole bird, even though much of him is behind the perch rock. I wish I could have climbed higher to see what was on that rock, because from the blood, I think he had just fed.

Canon 50D, 400 5.6L, 1/1000, f6.3.

I like this shot a lot. Terrific eye contact, sharp subject-and not only an interesting perch, but one that was really well exposed. Great job handling that range Terry.

very nice, Terry--I like the look it's giving you, and that you can see the tail. neat setting too.

Another beauty of this chick - this FG rock seems sharper here than the other one - any chance of a closer shot here (as well as the current crop that i like a lot)

Really nice detail and great capture -

Really like this Terry. I think being able to see part of the tail helps a lot. I like the direct stare and that there's light and detail on the underside of the rock perch.

I can see enough of the bird to make this work for my Terry. Love the piercing stare. An awesome bird.

Always a nice bird to find and to get one showing off the habitat so well at just 400mm is excellent.
