Dancing with the Light

I was going stir crazy staying home with a broken wrist and had to get out. I put my camera gear together, managed to put on my backpack with tripod, went downstairs to the backyard wanting to see if I could set up and shoot with one hand.

Well...off I went and had a GREAT weekend around Mono Lake and the Eastern Sierra!

This is a single image processed in LR and CS5.
C&Cs welcome!

70 views without a comment - what's up with that???? Wake up folks!

A very pretty reflection image Jean. My only suggestion would be to crop a bit off the bottom as that distracts to me. Gorgeous sky and sky color.

Beautiful scene and I really like the colors and comp. I spend a lot of time in the area but this location doesn't look familiar to me. I broke my wrist a few years ago falling off my mountain bike, so I know what you mean about not being able to get out.

Beautiful, Jean! I agree with the suggestion concerning a bottom crop.
The clouds and reflection are lovely. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Lovely storm clouds and reflection Jean. I'll add a possible side crop from the left to take out a bit of that distracting brush.

Nice shot Jean. I like both crop suggestions but it's pretty darn good as presented.

Fantastic image Jean. Love the blues and pinks. I agree with the crop from the bottom maybe to a 4X5 format.

Lovely. Very nice light and contrasting colors to make everything pop.

The thumb does not do this justice. I’m glad I clicked on this. Love the cool blues and greens and the clean reflection is a nice addition.

Thanks for all the great comments and feedback. I took a look at a crop per your suggestion and I think I have to agree. I know I'm going to reprocess this image anyway as I've been learning some new skills I think would make this better. Thanks again!

@Rudy - This is about 100 yards west of the bridge over the Tuolumne River and just a few yards from the road. There was so much snow this year the meadows were flooded and the river flowing wider than anyone has seen in years. This lovely pool is only a few inches deep and may be gone by now.
