Beauty of Denali

During a recent trip to Alaska we were lucky enough to get several different opportunities to see an unobstructed view of Denali. I like the reflections in the kettle pond. I left a little more sky in the top of the frame to balance the darkness of the foliage. Does this work ?

Comments and critiques always welcome. Always learning

That is one impressive mountain. I like the variety of elements from the wildflowers to the reflection to the snow-capped peaks. This has the illusion of being tilted but it must be an illusion because the trees appear to be vertical.

Your processing looks pretty darn good Andrew. I am not 100% sold on the comp with the same tones from the foreground overlapping into the mid ground. You did a great job controlling the highlights on the mountain and the reflection looks right. That's one heck of an exposure.

Lots of great elements here, Andrew, and the light seems to work. Since you ask, I'd be inclined for less sky as it put more emphasis on the other elements in the scene which to me are more interesting.

Apparently you're unaware of the fact that good photographs can not be taken with kit lenses in broad daylight.

No, seriously, great shot. It looks incredibly real on my screen here. I'm not sure whether the amount of sky is at the optimum already, though. Maybe a little less would improve things. You'll have to try, I guess.

I would go with less sky as the others have mentioned. Nice scene. I am looking forward to my first ever trip to Alaska and Denali N.P. in about 2 weeks. Thanks for sharing and for the inspiration.
