Keith, very good detail and color in this image. The OOF BG sets the bird off nicely. Also, I like the position of the birds head you caught. Thanks for sharing.

this is really nice, Keith--I like the pose, light and setting. your dof looks great. it worked out just right that the bill was against the small browner patch of bg where it stands out better than it would on all the dark around it. I might clone out the very round white specular highlight that is right of the bird's throat. looking at the larger image it looks like you may have just barely clipped the tip of the long hind toe, so a little more room on the bottom would be good if you have it.

Good light to showcase the wagtail against the dark natural setting. Nice detail in the plumage. Good exposure control on the difficult yellows. Nice body position and head turn.

Well done.

Nice little bird - great colours against the darker BG.
Nice head turn and environment.
I agree that more room is needed on the bottom so the foot isn't clipped, and the hot whites along the tail could be dampened a bit too.

A little tight on the bottom, but the bird is just wonderful. I have trouble with yellow birds and you've caught the color very nicely here...he really commands your attention! Sharon

I just think this is stunning Keith, the turn of the head just right, the yellows are perfectly exposed, and the setting really lovely. Couldn't give a fig about a bit of toe!!! The overall composition is splendid. :toast: :toast:
