Wild young sunflower

This is some type of wild daisy that was growing along our creek bank. I did take some pictures of the full grown daisies but I particularly liked the curves and flow of the petals in this "infant" daisy. (I now think this may be a type of wild sunflower.)

Canon Rebel T1i. 90mm macro lens. F/9 for 1/8 sec. ISO 200. I used a Wimberly plamp to hold the flower in place. I also shone a small LED flashlight on the flower to give extra lighting against the shady BG. Tripod mounted.

Looks more like a Coneflower Bud or Coreopsis kind of Flower Bud to me but I am not 100% certain  . Like the choice of DOF and the drooping stem on a blue-ish background. It might also work rotated 90 Deg Clockwise.

Good work, Carolyn :wavey:

PS : after some checking I am thinking this could be Helenium Flower.

Nice work, Carolyn! I'm not sure this is a daisy, but it is well composed, with lovely colors and perfect DOF. Your best yet! :toast:

Perfectly composed with the curving stem leading to the up front bud. Nice detail in the subject as well. Excellent image, Carolyn.

The curves in the petals and the stem are great. I like that you included the long stem, it lets me see the flower waving in the slightest breeze.

Thanks all for your comments! I really am not sure what this flower is. After researching some more (and also looking through Ram's link), I'm thinking it may be a wild sunflower, possibly a Woodland Sunflower. It has 8 yellow petals when in full bloom and the plant can get 5 feet high. Any additional ID help appreciated. I may post a full blooming one at a later point in the flora gallery. I will change my title until I hear differently.

Carolyn:
A very nice composition indeed. The curve stem leads the eyes to the bud. Only suggestion is to tone down the highlight in the left most petal.

I like the feelling of it projecting off the screen at me. Nice work.
