This is another shot from our 2009 Outback Tour.
I saw this gume tree in the eastern McDonnell Ranges/Northern Territory, Australia.
This is a midday shot.....

Techs: Nikon Equipemt, 1/50sec, F8, iso 100, 24mm focal length

Thanks for any comments and thoughts.

I think you did quite well with this. The light is a bit strong but it's easy to set that aside because you have such an appealing subject. It may be worth cloning a bit of sky over the very edge of the couple of branches that hit the RHS of the frame. I'd be curious to see a B&W version . . .

Excellent color and I agree you did very well with the light. The tree makes a great subject with it's sinuous lines. Well done.

Even though this is midday light I think this works beautifully due to the graphic nature of the tree, Bill. This is very minor, but if this were mine I would clone some sky over those limbs which touch the right edge of the frame. Just a suggestion of course.

Thanks a lot for your inputs and suggestions.
@ Phil: I haven't done a black and white version yet, but I will show it here as soon as I processed a b & w version.
@Phil & Ed: Yes your 're right about cloning some sky over the limbs on the right edge of the frame.
I appreciate your feedbacks.

Bill, lighting and exposure in your image work perfectly to me, the tree is nicely separated from the clear blue sky. The shapes of the branches are really interesting for me and keep my attention.

My only suggestion, as already mentioned by others, would be to avoid the cutting of the twigs at the right. But that is only a minor matter for me.

Lots and lots of character in that tree. I like the way it's captured against the blue sky. Midday light is..., well.., midday light, but you did really well with it.

A very interesting tree that looks great against the blue sky. I agree with all the comments made on this so far, and like the others I think the shape of this tree is very appealing. You did very well making this midday light work Bill. :toast:

Here's a black & white Version and I cloned a bit of the sky over the branches on the right side.

I really like the B&W and tend to prefer it over the color version. Nice work, Bill.
