Yeah, I know, I shattered a lot of rules here, but all to express how this Columbine had no competition for light, water, and nutrients. A independent bloom.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking.

This is really cool, Morris. I like comp and unique panoramic comp. Excellent clarity and color with perfect DOF. As long as you come away with shots like this keep breaking those rules all you want!!

Unconventional presentation but it works! Rules are meant to be broken right by the masters. The bloom here is so beautiful and has such strong presence that it will work in any sort of framing. :toast:

No problems at all with the centering, Morris. Nice to see rules broken once in a while  . Nice depth of field and I like that dappled background specially.

I think the bg is good enough here that the pano works and I think the centered subject is well within the rule for this nice portrait. Nice work.

The petal colours brought out by the lighting are just delicious, Morris ! What rules ??!! The pano effect brings with it a feeling of isolation, which seems to me to suit this flower perfectly.

Yeah yeah, the prima donna always takes center stage. However, let's not forget the supporting cast! That BG is sooo perfect.

A flower clothed in such finery can stand on its own any day. A real beaut, morris.

Morris: Flag on the play for all the rule breaking. Penalty is to send your favorite Flora mod other than Pat a large matted print that I can drool over. I think I'm beginning to get sick seeing all these wonderful Colorado wildflowers. Our drought really stole one of our annual joys here in Texas but this consoles me a little. Beautiful shot. >=))>
