Nicely done! Great detail where it counts, although just a bit more ISO, say 800, would have probably allowed the left side wings to be fully in focus (at a smaller focal opening).

Personally I like the oof wings, they help concentrate the eye on the beautifully sharp body. Nice one, Phil.

Agree with David here - out of interest though, what f stop (and without stacking!) would one need to get all of this subject in focus?

A really pleasing subject, very competently taken.

Nice image Phil - perfect sharpness - goodo :wavey:

Graham - whatever aperture would theoretically give Phil about 2 to 2.5 inches of DoF from this camera position - I doubt f64 would be enough, so somewhere nearer a theoretical f 128/256 might get you there - but the diffraction might just make the exercise somewhat futile; if indeed such apertures were available.

Great detail Phil, especially considering it was handheld. The depth of field is spot on too. Lovely image :toast:

Beautifully sharp detail. As Andy alludes to, I don't think you could better this with a single frame exposure given the laws of physics, at least as they apply in this part of the cosmos
