Been enjoying the monsoon--shot this a couple days ago a few miles from home--this house looked like a good subject, and the sunset lit it up nicely with the storm behind. this was by far my best catch of the storm. 5Dmkii; 24mmTS-E; 5s at f/9

With such cooperative home owners, why call down the lightning strike? Terrific shot with all of the lightning action and the storm light on the foreground.

Wow, what a cool shot. That lightning is awesome. Almost looks like that lightning set the house aglow, instead of the setting sun. Great storm shot Stan.

Great capture. I like the lightning going horizontal as well as vertical. The evening glow gives a nice soft light to the scene and the adobe style house sets it off. This resembles a house along Hwy 40 going into Albequerque from the west.

Such a compelling image. I'd like to compare a tighter crop of this image with the original above as the road takes my eye out of the scene. The lighting in the clouds is brilliant - well exposed, beautifully photographed.

An excellent opportunist capture. Lightening always makes for a dramatic image and the isolation of the house more so. I really like the rich colours and especially the highlight on the house. I just wonder since the main interest is in the lightening and the house whether a tighter crop may look even more dramatic. Graham

Striking! (Sorry Stan, I could not resist ) I love the glow in the clouds and the sense of scale the house lends to the scene. Almost looks like the house was zapped.

Stan: I don't think its fair that a weather guy can call up lightning at will and then rub it in by having it look like its striking the house.  What a great capture of a spectacular moment. >=))>

PS: Send some of that rain our way!
