Galloping Horses

Gallery: Man & NaturePosted August 1, 2011312 views13 comments
Mark III 1D, ISO 400, 70mm, f/5, 1/4000th

This image was cropped to pano. I did some cloning to remove some small vegetation (little bushes) and used Nik filters during processing to achieve the overall tonal balance that I wanted.

I hope you enjoy this one. It is one I quite like. Larger image provided.

Comments always appreciated.

Peter

nice action shot, after viewing larger image it has beauty of depth and detail, the colors are for me little bit off (purple/pinkish) and the sky is full of tiny spots from enhancing the colors, I think it is easy fix, thank you for sharing beautiful moment!!! :wavey:

This one deserves two prominent display places at the VERY least...your home and the headquarters for the Arabian Horse Association :toast:

Really nice image and I think it would look beautiful as a big pano print. Are these "wild" horses?

Thanks for the comments, I do plan to print this one for myself, not sure AHA is anxious for one.

Luke, This is a group of two-year-olds on our farm. We breed, raise and train Arabian and Half-Arabian horses. They are raised outside in large spring fed pastures until they are three, and then come in to begin training.

Peter:
The music 'Born Free' immediately pops into my mind when I saw this. Lovely blue sky and wild flower meadows for these beauties to roam about. :toast:

Great shot, Peter! Love the energy from the horses and the sense of freedom that comes through in this photo. The pano shot works very well for this.

Thank you for the positive feedback on this. There are so many wonderful images of horses that I rarely shoot them even though the subjects are always right at hand. I am really pleased that so many of you commented on the energy because for me that was the essence that I hoped it conveyed.

I agree with the energy feel this has, it really does show. A wild and free look at the very least! Nice work Peter.

The energy you captured is great. The sky does look purplish to me also. Well done.
