Heavy Metal Lace

Whoa, ok people, it's alright. Pick yourself up off the flour and get back in your chairs. I know this is so far in left field for anything I've posted I can't believe it myself. It all started with trying to emulate a look. As hard as I tried it just wasn't working for me. So I said to myself what if I did a BW conversion. This is the result. Being so far down the left line I'll let all you umpires decide if it is a foul, hit or pop fly out.

P.S. it originally started as the backside of a Queen's Anne Lace.

I am not going to think what you did, Bob - for now I am just enjoying the intricate beauty in this frame. Lovely lighting and great processing. Reminds me immediately of a Kaleidoscope designs :toast:

It works for me. Experimentation often results in something very creative.

Bob,

You'd have to know I love this. Reminds me of a snow flake, only possibly more intricate. Outstanding... You won't believe this comment but I might brighten it, just a touch. (smile)

Fabulous B&W conversion. Like this a lot. Very creative processing.

I am struggling with a fatsia scan (actually given up) with very similar starburst pattern and you have given me ideas to experiment with that image.

I think it's great. Having tried a bunch of shots of Queen Anne's Lace, without success, this is a terrific way to show off the symmetry while ignoring the details of the flower. Your treatment makes me think of a lovely chandelier with the lights dimmed.

Really cool! Wonderful detail in this. I would slightly lighten it around the edges a little to give it more pop, because it's really stunning.

You hit this one out of the park. It's one hundred percent hangable. The conversion emphasizes the texture and really brings out the patterns of the flower head. On the black bg, it looks intricate and delicate, with terrific lighting. Very nicely done.
