Unique composition and that head turn is real nice. The trees in the background are a nice addition to the image but I'm not so sure about the horizon being the mid point of the image

Thanks for the observation about the horizon Luke. In hindsight, may be i should have kept a little more at the top.

Anand, your photo really draws me in. I think because the rump of the bear is in the foreground, my eyes follow along the bear's back to his head. Very different for a bear photo and I like it. I'm really in love with the background. It doesn't matter to me that the horizon is near center. I think the amount of blur is perfect and the trees add greatly to show the bear's environment. My only suggestion would be to try lightening up the bear's head a bit if possible.

I think I would crop a bit from the left, just to minimize the feeling of that rump being a massive part of the image! I love the moody atmosphere of the background and find this is an exception to most wildlife images where quartering away is a strong disadvantage. I feel this works well.

Nice image here. The oof butt isn't an issue because the head/face of the bear and the background draw my attention. IMO the rule breaking horizon is not an issue due to the trees breaking up the line. Nicely done.

A very unique composition and perspective Anand. I like the use of the bear's body as a leading line to the head as well as the misty backdrop. I do agree with Lon about cropping a but off the left. I also wonder how much room you have at the bottom to work with; were the (virtual) feet showing in the original capture? If so I would be curious to see how that worked.

Thanks all ! I had a fair bit of trouble on deciding where to crop on the left. I wanted to crop more from the left to better place the eye but couldn't manage that without the crop edge drawing undue attention.

@ Vincent, I have attached the wider frame. I am planning to print the wider frame but the eye just didnt pop for me even when posted at 1200px. I thought cropping the bottom would make for an interesting web presentation.
ps: The repost is a quick unprocessed conversion to judge composition (colours may be off...)

Different and quite wonderful in my opinion. Loved the foggy background in your earlier post of this bear, and I'm still loving it here. :toast:

I like the overall feel of the shot, Anand. I think the repost is the shot to go with. You lose the fact that there is water in play with the bear in the first shot, and her rump is a little too much "in your face".
