Spent a few days of relaxation in Sonoma and Napa last week. The weather was mostly foggy all morning, then harsh sunlight the rest of the day. There were a few moments of nice light as the transition happened. Canon 5DII, 24-70, polarizer, f/16, 1/20, 2 shot blend for DOF.

Chris this is stunning. Outstanding light, incredible sharpness and detail, great use of in-the-field and post-processing techniques. If you don't mind sharing, did you also blend for greater dynamic range or tweak mid-range contrast, use luminosity masks or?? If not you truly did have rare light, and one way or the other the image as presented is top-shelf stuff IMO!

John, thanks. I did not need to do any blending for dynamic range, the tonality was fairly narrow. My processing included contrast, saturation, color balance, and luminosity masking.

Great set of patterns. I like how the lighter greens and yellows glow.

Very pleasing Chris. The vineyards are most impressive I like the red soil showing between the rows of vines.
