When I got the new D7000, I thought I,d try the high ISO settings which the reviews were good on..
Jean, my wife has been feeding this old sod for over a year in the garden.
She put the food out ,and ,I laid on a sheet on the lawn , (thinking I,ll try this low angle stuff ),checked the focus and messed around a bit. Before I could get sorted out,the animal as coming straight towards me and the food was about two feet in front of me. I took two shots and coughed (very loudly ) She stopped in her tracks and I reversed somewhat smartish. Am I a whimp or what ??? I,d be be no good bearwise . !!
D7000 2000 ISO Nikon 18-80 mm. F 3.5 60th second. 21;10 HRS
Neat image and a crop from landscape ! What a camera. !!!
Cheers

European badgers are such cute critters ! The image quality is pretty good considering the high iso. I like dark undergrowth on top and the slanting grass stalks. I do however wish that the eyes popped out a little better. Its not an easy feat considering the low light. The noise reduction on the feat are a little too apparent.
If he is a regular visitor to your backyard, you might try to get some intimate perspectives by placing the camera in her usual haunts and triggering it remotely

Great shot, John! It must be so nice to have a badger in your garden! I love the low angle and the framing with the grasses on the left. The 2000 ISO works very well I think. Have lots of fun with the new camera! :toast:

Thanks both. Anand- heres the second shot when she stopped. The effect on the feet on the first shot I think is emphasised bythe fact that the feet are moving and the 50th second wasn't enough. The second shot is processed exactly the same.
I,ve just noticed - there,s a bit of light in the eyes too !!

Cool shot, very nicely framed !
There are some cloning marks on the top edge, you seemed to have extended the canvas.

Jagdeep
Thanks Thats wierd ! Something gone wrong with the cropping tool in Paintshop pro. Its happened a few times as well recently . Itseems to move things around. Must get my eyes tested.

Addition

It seems to be related to the way I click the mouse.
  being trying to replicate the effect for the past two hours !
Cheers

I like the centered composition. Nice work. Hmm. The effect mentioned my Jagdeep is indeed weird if from a crop action!
