Sorry for this we had a good trip for Secretary Birds!

The dark colouration this one had me really puzzled, when I looke it up it turned out to be a Juvenile.

500mm F4 hand-held from our vehicle

Very nice Ken, it's a terrific pose. You can see the character of the bird here..
The little stem in its mouth gives it an almost human look IMO.
Reminds of my coach in H.S. as he always seemed to have some grass hanging out of his mouth
Techs look great, very well done & have a nice weekend :toast: :toast:

He definitely looks like he is trying to grow into some new feathers! His legs, bting obscured give me the impression of a cat's furry legs. Ah the awkward stage of adolescence. Good catch!

Ken,

A very interesting pose and I love that bit of grass in the bill. I like the setting, the look at the eye and the feathers on the head. If this was cropped and you have room on the right & bottom I might allow a little bit more space there as it feels a little tight, but comp is a personal preference.

Beautiful shot of a beautiful bird Ken! I really like the twig or grass in it's jaw and the way it's head is tilted back.
