In The Greenhouse

The production greenhouses at the North Carolina Arboretum are working overtime to keep their seedlings misted and cool, but this succulent doesn't mind all this hot weather and seems to be pretty content in the greenhouse.

I wanted to soften the look of the harsh edges so I did a bit of processing in Viveza and then tried the Oil Painting setting in Topaz Simplify. Soft and smooth and definitely a "cool" look.

Thanks for stopping by. Your comments are always greatly appreciated.
Camera is a Nikon D7000, 18-200mm lens, tripod and some mist from the greenhouse.

I like the motley color look here, Barbara. Wonderful shades of green too. To my eyes the edges of the plant still look sharp. However, I find them interesting: I think that they give it a "chunky" appearance. I expect that if you added a texture it would tend to soften those but I prefer it as posted. Cool, alright!

I like the colors and the painterly look you created in this image. Nicely done.

Thanks everyone for your comments and for taking a look. I've enjoyed working with plug-ins from Topaz and I think they can really enhance an image for that creative look. I appreciate your comments.
