Spring at Lake Oesa

Spring at Lake Oesa, Yoho NP, British Columbia.

I spent a few days last month in Yoho NP. On my second evening at this little basin, I was reworded with a brief light, just long enough to capture this image.

Thank you for having a look and leaving a comment.

D5 II, 16-35mm at 16mm, three raw files hand blended.

Very nice capture!

Gorgeous light, stellar reflection, nice mood in the dark clouds near the top right of the frame.

As far as composition goes, I might have stepped back or shifted a bit left to move the sun closer to the center of the frame. You may have been able to capture a complete sunstar and you could have brought a bit more attention to the beautiful light and textures on that bumpy snow.

All said... a great shot!

There is much to like about this image. The little streak of blue in the water, the reflection, the sunstar, the snow field. You did an excellent job of putting this all together Wieslaw. Really nice work. Congrats!

Sweet! Probably my favorite park in N America. Greta light and conditions here. I like the leading line to the sun, overall very nice. Wish the top of the peak were visible in the reflection, but hey you cant have it all all the time... :toast:

Wieslaw, your image is fantastic for me. It is especially amazing to me how the clouds counteract the bright sunlight. Furthermore, the unique reflection really brings it to life in my opinion.

That's a really nice, angular comp, Wieslaw. I feel my eyes being pulled in several different directions...in a nice way. The blue water is a nice calm focal point in all this.

What a unique moment you have captured here. It may have only lasted for a second, but I'm glad you were there to capture it. Mountain weather can truly be the most amazing and awesome of all.

Lovely shot with lots of drama. The various elements work, snow textures, blue water, sunstar, and bright rock keep my eyes moving smoothly.

Wieslaw, This composition has so many nice features. My eye does not want to leave the frame. The shape of the pool plays off the peak very well. The nice soft, warm light breaking through that moody sky illuminates the textures of the scene so well. :toast:

At first I felt that your image needed a little boost. But I was sold on the larger version. Beautiful work Wieslaw.
