Galveston Texas. April 2011.

D3 ISO 400. 300/2.8 with 2x tc. f5.6 1/2000s -0.3ev. Natural Light. Handheld.

The whites on the head are suffering slightly from compression. Original with fine detail there.

Sweet! Good pose and eye, detail looks fine to me, and nice BG. Fledgling?
I think, if it were mine, I'd clean up that dark area on the front of the post perch. Since it is close to the bird, and centered, it really draws my eye.
Nice!

Wow, super detail Angela. They just love fence posts don't they. I wonder how this might look with a slight warming of the color balance, the whites look a bit cool.

Great detail! I, too, would add just a tad of warmth to it.

Very nice up that shows the feather patterns and color really well and interesting to see those large feet, way to go.

I like this handsome bird, I've never seen it here.
Sharp detail and the overall comp works well IMO.
I see what you mean about the whites at the head, minimal though..
I agree with Gary, perhaps a bit of warming?
A fine job as posted :toast:
Have a great weekend & happy hunting Angela :toast:

I'm on vacation and can't get to the warming yet. I see it on my vacation monitor. Truth, it's been too long since the desktop monitor was calibrated. I'm pretty sure I couldn't see the blue there (but will have to see when I get home) and I also agree about the spot on the front on the perch. Thank you all.

Really nice detail Angela, nice pose & eye contact too. Great view of the large feet of this species. Agree about warming this up slightly.

Color corrected (I think). Now I remember why I hadn't calibrated my monitor in a while. Spyder2Pro malfunctioning. Spent 2 hours downloading corrections/new software/Rosetta. Finding original discs.........................etc. Still nothin'
