I love this grass and this tree and the ibises in the tree against the dark background. All feedback on whether you think this image is interesting and anything else would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I love seeing large flocks like this. I like the mostly bare tree and it reveals the birds well. I might consider two possibilities-but would only know if they work when you try them. Check out a crop with the tree more to the left-then the top of the tree and white birds would created a more diagonal line leading toward the center. I would also increase the contrast and/or blacks using the levels in PSE9.

This is the type of image that's tough to judge when viewed at a small site on a website. It is an interesting setting and I like Angela's crop suggestion. The lighting seems a little bit harsh to me. :toast:

I'll second both of Angela's suggestions. Like many of your previous posts this could be improved with a stronger black in the image. As posted it looks washed out and weak in color.

Well seen. Can't add much to Angela's comments. And Richard is right that you need to boost the blacks.

I like the concept, Barbara. The birds look reasonably crisp in the larger image. I might think about cropping it a bit closer, if it were mine. The bird on the very top makes a nice focal point-you might try to work with that in your composition.

Here is the image reprocessed with the blacks increased. I also did the square crop and put the tree a little more to the left to take advantage of the diagonal. Your feedback on this redone version would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

The repost is a nice improvement over the original. I like the darker background. I also like the reframing - moving the tree to the left gives this much better compositional balance.

Just coming back to look, Barbara. I like the richness. Believe it or not, I'd remove a little more off the left still. Consider just to the right of that tree trunk-eleminating it altogether.
