Relaxing At The Den

Though it doesn't happen often enough, once in a while a wild subject that I'm photographing (usually after a ridiculously long amount of time sitting completely still) will feel safe enough to approach, lie down and relax near me. Even rarer than that, at times (such as this one) a critter will actually fall asleep right next to me.

Nothing fancy here, just a very relaxed young fox resting outside of the den. He'd been napping, and lifted his head when he heard mom approaching with dinner.

As always, comments & suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I like the angle you took this at Guy and how the kits body curves through the frame. I haven't seen a fox den in over a year now :frown:

For me at least this is a very unusual image, the pose is extraordinary and I hope you will not be offended if I say it looks a little like a "glamour model".

It is always great to see something like this, a moment beautifully captured :toast: :toast:

Like the interesting comp and relaxed look of the youngster, techs look great Guy.
I own one shot of the shy Texas gray fox..
Hard to believe they would be so accepting. You must've spent a great deal of time with them.
Hat's off to you :toast:
