Canon EOS REBEL T2i
EF-S55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS
7/8/2011 – 3:26:38 PM
1/125 sec
Aperture priority
f/5.6
ISO 400
Focal length 250 mm
Handheld with arms on chair arms
Smoky Mountains
Raw file processed in Photoshop Elements 9

The sun was going in and out of dark clouds, and I was trying to catch this flower when the sun was on it. I pretty much had to use f/5.6 to get the background like this. All feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

My kind of straight forward clean subject flower shot. Pleasing BG. Perhaps not as sharp as if you had used a tripod but really nice as is.

Barbara: Marvelous isolation of one of my favorite flowers and I like the play of light on the bloom especially. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

Beautiful image Barbara. The bg is perfect and I like the flower as well. No suggestions.

Nice image. Excellent contrast with BG. It is difficult to take, handheld, sharp image with FL 250mm and 1/125sec. Under these circumstancies you have managed it quite well.

Barbara:
Nicely done. Would also work with a portrait crop.

Lovely image, Barbara ! A sense almost of loneliness comes through to me - you've isolated the flower beautifully. I think the lighting and the dof are just right.
