It's dragonfly season..What can I say?
Better light this time on the Roseate Skimmer, and it's "crunch" time as it devours a small fly..
F/16, 1/400th, ISO 500, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + Kenko 2x ext with fill this time. Shot around 11:00 and cropped to 5.8MB

Really a great one Howard. We don't see this one here in Oregon so glad you did such a great job and shared it.

The colors and detail are terrific. DF eyes are so amazing. I would like to better see what he's eating.

I'd like to see more of what the DF is eating as well Mark. They takeoff and catch the small stuff in flight, and most times it's half eaten by the time they return to their perch..At least you can see its eating something hey :wavey:

Nice colors and composition - the prey is a real bonus. I'm still waiting to be lucky enough to capture that

Beautiful! Nice color, perch and bg. I don usually do fill with DF but I must try using flash fill next time.
