I've just returned from photographing [i[mostly[/i] wildlife on St. George Island, in Alaska's Pribilof Island's. Had to take a break from the birds, foxes and orca to work this scene though. We had incredible, warm light the first two nights of our stay. We were there shooting a new episode for our new website - AlaskaPhotoVideo.com, which is scheduled to go 'live' shortly.
In the meantime, I've got several other photos posted in my recent blog post, and have many more to come.

Very, very nice. The light and lines work to perfection here to carry the eye up through the expanse of cliffs and waves.

The leading lines and the depth work really well. I also like the long exposure wave action and how it's catching some of the sun's rays. Great shot!

That is some sick light on the waves. The lines and the light helps the eye flow through the image nicely. Great shot!

I am surprised by the greenery on the island ! Given its remote location on the bearing sea, i imagined it to be wind beaten cliffs without much plant life. The light here is sweet, especially on the waves :toast: :toast:

Very nice depth and color to this image. The sky adds some drama.

Thanks everyone

Anand, I too was surprised by the incredible foliage on the island. Short plants, but VERY lush environment! Everything is covered in plants.

Spectacular, Dave, simply spectacular. The light gracing the cliffs and the touch of light on the surf below is stunning. A rare day in the Bering Sea for sure. When I was at St Paul for a week in 1982, saw the sun for maybe 2 minutes one afternoon; still an amazing experience. Hope the lupines were in full bloom when you were on St George. Fantastic image.

Thanks Mark & Vance -
We had a lot of fog as well, some high clouds and plenty of misting. But it was perfect light for wildlife photography! The first and second night, we had really good luck with the sun popping out low on the horizon. This was the only landscape I got that really captured the mood, but I'm glad to have seen what I saw, and bring home this image. Thanks again! :toast:

Dave: The hint of light in the breaking waves in the bottom right corner really adds to this image. Well seen. Randall
