Lillooet Lake sunset in June.

Taken with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2
Only edited with basic colour saturation to amplify the brightness of the sun.

Lost some exif data.

I would have to say, Kristine, that the brightness of the sun is the last thing that needs amplifying here. It's rather overpowering. I do like it included with those beams and all, but the brightness is washing out other areas like the contrast in that tree at right. There's some pretty easy fixes that would go a long way towards improving this but are hard to explain without showing you what I mean. Basically, I would use a clone tool or healing brush to remove the off-colored flare spots, darken just the tree on the right, and if you had any where you took a step to the right and moved that one bush off to the left a little more, that might work even better. This is a pretty neat shot, just a darn tough exposure!

I like the light and the framing. Foreground looks a bit cluttered. Maybe cropping a bit would help?

Hi Kristine,

Not an easy shot and you did a nice shot controlling the highlights in the sun and sky. I agree with the others - I'd probably crop up on the foreground. The shadows look a blocked up there anyways. The lens flare is an easy fix. Hope to see more.
