Incoming Delivery!

The lighting was tough on this sequence. I was actually lined up to try to catch a feeding sequence out the right side of the vehicle where the "good light" was, and where 2 juvies were sitting. I then noticed this juvie on the left side of my vehicle and the road start to fluff up and call excitedly. I quickly shifted to the left of my vehicle as it was raising its wings, as I mentioned in previous post. Notice that the juvies wings are touching at this last moment before delivery of the vole.....it is the only time when it raises the wings that they actually touch. I thought the adult was going to come in more from the right as that was initially the way the juvie was facing, but it moved at the last second and I think the adult came right over the front of my vehicle....hard to tell as I was trying to get a good focus on the juvie. I just started shooting as the wings touched and got a sequence of shots for the feeding. I got a couple more sequences of feeding, too, with other juvies. There was no way to get the adult in focus, but maybe that is best as it shows motion? The feeding transfer doesn't take long, and the adult is off to hunt again. Also, at times, as soon as the juvie has been given the vole by the adult, another juvie swoops in to try to take it from him....pretty cool to watch, but usually the invader does not get the vole. More good stuff later.
