Verdon,

I don't remember commenting on one of your images before so welcome to the gallery. I like the subject and the light in this. Good dof decision for my tastes and a strong composition as well. The bg bokeh suggests to me that you might have shot this with a long lens but whatever it was the separation is excellent. I like the image. Hope to see more of your work.

Nice shot Verdon. Color, detail, and lighting all look good, and I like the one errant petal.

Verdon: Welcome to the finest Flora gallery on the planet and for a fine first post here. Goes to show one doesn't need a perfect subject to create a good image. I like the imperfections here and your technical control. Great to have you aboard and looking forward to more. >=))>

I forgot to comment the black frame. Somehow it doesn't suit to this nice bright photo.

I kind of find this image inspiring! The beat-up sunflower seems to be saying "even though I've been through some tough times I'm still here doing my part to beautify the world". Would make a great inspiring poster. Great DOF choice and good colors on the flower. I also like the comp. Interesting photo, Verdon.

Thank you guys very much for nice comments and welcoming.....
I love macro (specially super insect ones), but unfortunately I just sold my canon 100 mm and now I can just shoot close ups with my other lenses. Yes Pat you are absolutely right this shot was taken with my 600 mm lens F/4, when I am chasing wildlife I always looking around what would be nice to capture besides animals, thank you again and I am sure that I will post more photos of close ups,; cheers Verdon! :wavey:

I too agree with the majority here Verdon, the imperfection of the flower is not at all bugging me & i really like the contrast u've achieved in this image
