Very nice indeed Phil. Sharp where it needs to be, great perch and the background is lovely and smooth. I sometimes look at the latest, 'stacked' images and find them a bit 'artificial' (similar to some HDR landscapes) even though they may be technically great. I think it is because I expect to see some oof parts in a macro image due to the physics of lenses. Not very logical thinking really as it is not how my eyes would expect to see an insect. Anyway, this image is very pleasing on the eye. (of course, if this is stacked I'm gonna look a right muppet  ).

Maybe a little large in the frame but still an impressive shot. Nicely taken.

Looks ok to me Phil
I agree with Roberts comments about stacking but I find it the most interesting and rewarding part of photograhy I have come across for years. It makes you seek out subjects you may never have thought of.
I think every now and then we need something new to have a stabb at. In the past I have posted an image of an insect or butterfly and very often there's a comment saying " NICE IF THE ANTENNAE WERE IN FOCUS" or something like that.
Stacking gives you the chance to do it if you want to. Its difficult but when you get it right !
Cheers

Great image, and the portrait format suits it well. I agree with Matt about it being a little large in the frame, but otherwise a nice piece of work.
