Lovely Lupines

by Carol Nichols

Last month I travelled to the northeast coast of Maine. Lupines were blooming all along the roads and I tried to capture a bit of their beauty in this image.

Critiques and comments are very welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking!

Just beautiful, Carol. Lupines are very photogenic flowers. Great sharpness and love the excellent background rendition - not surprising considering the lens used. Our Mod, Bill Fach loves these flowers and I bet he might compose a short poem

Beautiful work on the subject Carol but it's the bg that really appeals to me. Perfect dof decision for my tastes. Strikingly beautiful image.

Carol, I just have to get up there one time and see these for myself. I really like your comp isolating these two beautiful specimens against that beautiful BG. Excellent job.

Carol: All lupines get extra credit from this Texan! Marvelous POV and DOF control. I like your comp and placement of the main blooms in the frame. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

The separation of the subject from a very appealing BG is superb & the composition works wonders for my tastes just reminds me why i love shooting in the wild more then at home

Wow! I like everythin about this. I agree that the DOF is perfect so that we can identify the more distant flowers but they in no way compete with the beautiful twin spires. Great work!

This is just amazing!! Love it all the way. :jump:

If I had to suggest improvement, may be you could have avoided the pink bright one in the background.
