Queenstown, NEW ZEALAND

Some pretty nice light while passing through the area. The sparkly particles in the water are best appreciated on the large version.

Canon 5DMkII, 70-300mm 4-5.6L IS.

The thumbnail on this shot does little justice to this one, and the larger version is sweet, so I'm sure blown up big on the wall it would be killer! The mist adds some nice subtle drama to a great all around scene. There's quite a bit to look at (dramatic clouds, mountainous shapes, water textures) so I think the black and white treatment adds a nice bit of simplicity here. Excellent shot, definitely the best monochrome I've seen here recently.

Stunning light show. So much drama with the clouds and mountain range. If I were to nit pick a little, my eye does get a little blocked up at the super dark island in the foreground. But it's not quite the same with that cropped out, either. Nevertheless, a beautiful image.

That's a wee beauty I like the cool toned black and white look. It looks very Scottish.

Beautiful. The b/w is perfect here imo and it has created a wonderful mood. Very enjoyable to look at.

Wonderful light and very well captured. The b&w treatment really puts the emphasis the light itself. An excellent choice. Beautiful

Nice. The monochrome presentation really makes the textural contrasts stand out.

Hi Kah,

These one no need scale to know that these landscape is something big but I confess that a little boat would make this shot a Killer. This is just my mind trying to find a nit, because this shot is just great as the view and the light.

What an epic scene. And your conversion is more than excellent! I really like the way you kept the island jet black as lends mystery and drama to this. The "Godbeams" and the peaks are just icing. And yes, the sparkles on the water are just another outstanding element. This is impressive. :toast:

This is about as good as it gets for a B&W, Kah Kit. I love the range of tones in this landscape along with the drama in the sky. As a final note the lighting is sublime. :toast:
