I was lucky to stumble across this Four-Spotted Chaser recently at one of my local haunts. The background colour is from a field of buttercups which is next to the pond where I found it.
Canon 7D with Sigma 150mm, f13, 1/160, ISO 400 and a strong breeze.
All C+C welcomed.

I must admit I was pleased with this image but I posted it to see what others thought. From the lack of response I can only assume that no-one is particularly enthused by it but it would be very helpful if people could let me know which aspects they don't like. This is a critique forum after all...

nice side on view lovely and sharp where it counts and I like the background. I might have been tempted to move it over to the left a bit but thats purely personal taste.

Hi Matt,
The BG colours are very complimentary, I think the yellows in the BG really pick up those of the dragonfly and the side on view works well, it's nice and sharp from eye to tail, especially for a 1/160th on a breezy day. Nice work.

Nicely captured and very arty works a treat for me.
Wouldn't worry too much about lack of comments. It seems to be the norm at the moment.
Congratulations,
The OOF wings stand out more due to the side view and maybe you could take a little off the RHS, moving the head more onto a third.
Cheers
