Taken with a Fuji Fine Pix S5000, just before I graduated to a SLR. Exp 1/140, f3.2 This was taken by the river in the dead of winter and the color in the Spanish Moss stood out all the more that time of year.

I've always loved Spanish Moss, maybe because we don't have it in the west. Great idea to use it as a subject, and the soft background with its subtle colors adds quite a bit.

i wasnt expecting much from the thumb--but i really like this! I really like the soft bg, gives it that dreamy look. The balance feels a bit off to me--maybe the stuff in the lrhc is throwing me. I am sure you were limited here comp-wise, but hey thats why great photography aint easy to come by. Nice shot overall.

Thank you for the comments. And John, this was shot a few miles from the Pacific ocean near Jenner in Northern California. Lots of the stuff in this area.
