Mountain Goat

I have been away a bunch lately, and have not had many chances for new wildlife postings, but did manage visit Mt. Evans for my first time in early June. I found a couple of groupings of mountain goats and came away with some images just after sunup before the light became total contrast.

This youngster gave me several clicks as he moved amongst the rocks. I included some background mtn peak with snow caps for sense of place, but thought the additional detail and brightness was a distraction, so this is about three quarters of original. Maybe next week when I get back to a computer I will show a full version.

I selectively tweaked contrast and brightness levels a touch to present him at what I thought was his best. D3S, 200-400 @400, f16m, 1/800, -0.3ev, iso 1000

I like your choice of cropping on this Lon which shows the surroundings. Details look good and colors very natural. Nice work! Hope you had a good time up on Evans. I visit frequently

Welcome back ! What stands out for me is that ready to moult fluffy fur  Plenty of curious curs and shapes to it.

The details look fantastic and the catchlight on the eye is as good as it gets !

The detail in this is superb Lon, f/16 ensured that! The exposure looks spot-on on my screen with excellent detail in the white fur coat. You did make me very curious about the original frame though with the distant mountains included; it sounds like it might have a lot of potential.

Like the early light combined with an excellent exposure - great DOF & details in the whites Lon.
You managed to make the youngster look kinda cute-n-fluffy
Well done & thank you for your comments.
