Altocumulus Over Mojave

I took this a few weeks ago at Red Rock Canyon State Park in the Mojave Desert. The clouds were really moving across the sky and I had a great evening in the desert. These may actually be stratocumulus clouds, but "Stratocumulus Over Mojave" is one character too long for a title.
Thanks and comments welcome,
Rudy

Rudy,

Maybe Stan, will chime in but they look like Stratocumulus, Altocumulus are mid level clouds. They lend a sense of movement and sweep to the image. Nice.

Impressive. The blend works great. Comp and light (at least on the laptop) are fantastic.

This is sweet! Great details and the dramatic sky really set this one apart IMO. :toast:

The sky is amazing Rudy and I like your processing. From a compositional stand point, I wish there was some separation between the foreground and background elements. Overall, I think this does an excellent job at capturing the stark beauty of the Mohave.

Very nice Rudy. I really like the looks of this sky with these wonderful clouds with the blue behind. A nice view of this place.

Hey Rudy,

So very nice to see an image from you. Won't give anyone an argument on the clouds, but I can say that the sky is awesome. Your chose composition emphasizes the clouds and I think works very well. I may have opted to stagger the view with the foreground plant and the rising rock formation behind so they weren't on top of each other - but that's minor as the clouds are the real interest here. No nits or other suggestions. Thanks for posting.

Spectacular sky Rudy! I too am on the fence about the "stacking" of foreground elements but this is about the sky and I keep going back there. The detail of the foreground plant is stunning as are the clouds more so in the large version. If you are going to print this, I might be tempted to clone out the little bit of brush on the left edge. Beautiful work none the less..
