Was little bit after 8 PM (almost no light...) , when I captured this running and bugling elk, he was chasing other elks away from his "ladies", he ran veeeery close to me in full speed but maybe 20 yards from me he probably find out than I am not the" competition" and he made sharp turn, tell the true my heart was pumping sky rocking high....
Mark III,, ISO 800, 400 mm, manual mode, 0 EV, F/7.1, 1/320 sec, handheld ...

I really like the cold blue feel. The antlers stand out nicely against the dark forest.

Be careful though ! They can sometimes slam into you even if you are not competition

Well done under these low-light conditions Verdon, exposure looks good.
I agree with Anand, the large antlers stand out nicely..
Also like the head-on POV and placement in your frame, great detail :toast:

I can certainly imagine your hart was pumping Verdon when a bull with a rack like that sees you as competition! I like the soft even light here as it creates a low contrast scene with lots of detail on the subject. The elk also stand outvery well agains the grass and dark BG. The brighter tree in the distant BG is a very minor nit, but nothing that spoils the image. Great work. :toast:

Great perspective and pleasing as posted. I think, however, that I would try to reduce the blues a touch, just to the level that one does not think blue before elk.

I can feel the intensity of the elk, the moment is well captured. I agree with the blues, that was the first thought that came into my mind when I opened the image. Other wise a very fine image.
