First of all, sorry for being absent for so long. Sometimes you're not in the right mood to contribute to this amazing community. Maybe everybody has gone through this from time to time. I've kept an eye on your works though and I was stunned almost every day. NPN always delivers.
I have a few images to share with you including some from my trip to Norway, but I'll begin with this one taken home, in my lovely mountains. We timed our trip to the bloom of the alpine rhododendron and with the luck of some good light, we came back home with a few keepers. Very curious to hear your thoughts and suggestions. Thanks.

450d, Tokina 12-24 at 14mm, f10, blend of several exposures for dynamic range and to remove lens flare. Check the larger version too.

Definitely some great light and without a doubt a keeper. Your processing is very well done too.

By the way Dorin, you have an amazing portfolio on your website. I'll be spending some time browsing through your galleries. So much there to view, and all of top quality. Great work!

Nice to see you back here, Dorin. Don't worry about not hanging around here all the time - artists are born with mood swings and sometimes you can't force what you're told by your head.
Awesome shot - like zooming out from the shot I've just posted before :) ... I like your processing and how you took care of the technical problems on location by taking several exposures. These shots are really hard and you don't want to mess them up by being too quick with your decisions.

Sweet light and comp. I like the way the sun lights up the flowers a lot.

Dorin,

Great to see a post from you. I know what you mean about being in the right mood as I went nearly three months without much contribution here. It does take a good frame of mind - and it doesn't hurt to have worthy images to share! Just like this one! Fabulous light on this warm, mountain landscape. I love the light on the slope here and of course the Rhododendron.

Not really a nit, but the far left of the frame is a little empty, but certainly does not detract from the overall presentation.

Dorin, this is beautiful, and your work on your site is exceptional. I'm stretching to find anything to suggest here...hard to "critique" this one when I just want to sit and admire and appreciate "the beautiful landscape of a not so well known country." Great processing too. Thank you for sharing this with us!

The scene can be seen best only in the larger version, the small details (the rhodos) are making this one shine. I also like that you used warm tones. Indeed, the upper left part seems a little bit empty, I feel that it's partially because that part it's a little bit darker, after the light has gone. Not a big issue though.

Thank you so much for the comments, guys. I knew you bring up the issue about the left part. As soon I found this composition I tried to find a way to compensate for that lack of space, but I wasn't happy with anything else and finally I decided for this one, taking into account the nice curve of the juniper leading the eye towards the center of the frame.

WOW, what light, Dorin. Just love how it's just the flowers catching the last rays of sun and the way you've managed it so that there is excellent details in the shadows beyond.

Beautiful scene and I love the light on the fg flowers. The upper corners seem a little dark to me, but still a very nice image.

Nice! Dark and moody! Great job with the sun and all. I feel your pain in not being able to contribute more here--makes me wanna quit my job and become a photo bum

I like the conflicting moods here, from dark and foreboding to the beautiful fg light. You certainly nailed the hyper focal distance to get such great DOF at f10. Well done. :toast:
