Sugar Land, TX March, 2011

D3 ISO 200. 300/2.8 with 2x tc. f6.3 1/1250s -1.0 ev. Handheld. Natural Light. About 40% FF. Taken in portrait. Cropped top and bottom.

The light fell just right on this snowy as he sat on a branch in an otherwise shaded creek. I love their yellow feet.

Real pretty Angela. Great environment, water and the perch and great dappled light. My only distraction is the bright spot near the chest plumage easily fixed. Great image.

This is one of my favorite types of BGs for a snowy. Wonderful!

The Egret is beautifully set against the darker background and your exposure on the whites is spot on, and yes, the yellow feet balance nicely with the yellow eye and facial marking, very well done as always Angela :^)

This is very nice Angela, I especially like the soft filtered light that falls across the bird here.
Stands out well against the shaded dark BG..even like the light across the water bottom too
I would consider removing that light patch in front of the bird, or at least selectively darkening it?
Well done :toast:

A very strong image Angela. Really like the effect of the light on the well-exposed egret and the background sets a nice mood. The lighter area just in front of the bird doesn't bother me - certainly not enough to manipulate the image to get rid of it.

Absolutely gorgeous, Angela. The light on the heron is wonderful and the shadowed bg with the hint of wave tossed waters at the bottom give this a great feel. One of your best, and you've been posting some wonderful images.
