There is a lot I love about this one, but some technical flaws will get some attention, I fear. Mostly, the horizon ehibits tilt and lens distortion. The right corner seems too bright. All can easily be fixed. Love the clouds and the subtle light. This seems like the calm before the storm.

Thank you for your comments, Robert. I didn't notice the tilted horizon, but I'm glad you pointed it out so that I can straighten it. Please tell me where the lens distortion is because I don't see it, but I would like to so that I can correct it. The right corner was bright in the actual scene, but I may try darkening it to see if I like the effect.

I like the leading lines that take us through this shot, Barb. The line of the water against the sand, the dark cloud in the sky, and the trail of debris left over from high tide. The calm water contrasts nicely with that turbulent sky - it's an interesting juxtaposition. I also like the subtle and beautiful light. Very nice. Fixing the slightly tilted horizon, as Robert suggested, is the only thing I'd worry about. The lens distortion he mentioned - evident in the slight curve of the horizon - doesn't bother me at all.

Really nice composition Barb,

The line of the shore and the mini squall line really draw the eye through the image. I agree with Varina the only thing you need to correct is the horizon tilt. The brigthness in the sky is fine .
