Fledgling Amer. Dipper

Olympus E-5, 300mm x 2.0TC, sitting on ground
f9, 1/320, ISO320, image stabilization on

This little guy, still half in down and showing gape, was begging for food from his parents. I wish it were possible to show his exaggerated "dipping" behavior with a static picture. Taken along the upper Gulkana River.

80% of full frame. Experimenting with Viveza for selective changes (thanks, Sandy!).

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

What a little puff ball, wonderful feather detail on the larger version. I like the overall composition showing how the bird could blend in with the rocks, well done Jim.

Excellent detail and I really like the low perspective you acquired here Jim, and what a delightful little fella, he looks pretty well fed to me :^)

Love the overall comp Jim. Really nice sharpness and detail in the bird too. Nice to see the habitat this plump little bird was using.

Really great image of this bird. Great detail. That rock he is sitting on looks like a giant egg!
