Red Sky Over the Palouse

Another shot taken while leading a private workshop in the Palouse last week. It had been pouring rain just an hour before this. We lucked out, the storm cleared right as the sun was setting creating this dramatic scene.

Wonderful painterly view Zack! I love the diffuse lighting especially in the sky. Long exposure?

Awesome display of light Zack. The red highlights on the land are terrific. I see a sharp line 1/3 the way across on the left that looks a bit unnatural and wondered if you did some cloning there.

I love the Palouse and I love the color that almost every image form that are produces. I like this shot a lot but my eye is drawn like a magnet to the horizon and I miss most of the foreground. I'm thinking maybe a slight blend to reduce the brightness in that area.

Kah Kit, that is actually part of the landscape there. It's the border of two farms.

Beautiful light and color. I especially like the way the hills pick up the color from the sky.

Zack, great colors here, love the abstract feel. I hope you also shot some images in this scene with a telephoto...there seems to have been a lot of possibilities there.

I wish I could have Kartik, but this light only lasted for a few seconds.

Simply amazing! The light, the clouds, and especially the textures and color in the hills. Are you sure you didn't land on Mars by mistake?
